Mathew Davidson, procurement manager, Glenhaven Foods, Arklow, knew of Derek’s reputation for producing unique, statement pieces of fine furniture. When they opened new offices, it was time to mark this expansion with something special. He wanted it to represent their business and be a focal point for team members and clients.
Derek had a design consultation with Glenhaven and captured a sense of what they had in mind; a customised board room table. He put thought into the qualities and aesthetics that best fitted this company and presented draft designs plus a model sized sample to the board of directors.
The resulting design is a truly grand and individual table of walnut with solid maple and wenge rosewood inlay. It has four walnut inset flaps with push release and hinged mechanisms for access to HDMI and WIFI appliances.
The directors were so impressed with this Irish made signature piece, they asked Derek to add a complimentary side unit with storage and a coffee dock, further enhancing the ambience of the boardroom.
